Mentor:
Waseem Awwad – Microsoft MVP, Security and Azure
Program Type:
Free online community mentorship program
About the Program:
This free community mentorship program is designed to help developers, cloud engineers, IT professionals, and security practitioners improve how they manage secrets, credentials, keys, and certificates in Azure environments.
Many cloud security issues start with simple mistakes: hard-coded credentials, shared secrets, unclear permissions, expired certificates, weak rotation practices, or automation scripts that expose sensitive values. This mentorship program focuses on helping participants understand these risks and apply safer patterns using Microsoft cloud security capabilities.
The program will cover practical topics such as Azure Key Vault, managed identities, access permissions, certificate and key lifecycle, secret rotation, and secure credential handling for applications, scripts, and hybrid integration scenarios.
The focus is not on theory only. Participants will receive practical guidance on how to review secrets exposure, reduce credential risk, separate application logic from sensitive values, and design safer access patterns in Azure.
